On yesterday I went to lunch with a coworker and she purchased lunch from a food truck that sold Schnitzels (a lightly breaded boneless veal, chicken or pork fillet).  I didn’t purchase one but the sandwich look so good that I had decided that I would get one on today.

So, I went out for lunch and decided to take different route to the food truck.  When I reached the destination, the truck wasn’t there.  I knew that sometimes they would change locations depending on what time they reach our location.  I then decided to walk over one block to my right to see if it was there.

I looked at the menus of the different trucks but the thought of the Schnitzel remained with me.  I almost purchased something from the jerk chicken truck but knew that I would not be satisfied, so the search continued.

I thought about the other set of truck WAY over to my left and I made up in my mind that if it wasn’t over there that I probably would either settle for something or not have lunch.

I continued to walk in that direction when I heard my thoughts ramble on to say, “you know that the set of trucks over there are usually of a set order.”  I continued to walk.  As I looked at the lineup of the trucks, my heart sank.  Oh no, all this way for nothing.  But another voice said “look again!”  And sure enough, there was the truck I was looking for!

On picking up my coffee from McDonald’s that morning my receipt number was “171.”  When I placed my Schnitzel order, my receipt was number 17!

My lesson learned was don’t be turned around when you don’t first see what you have been looking for but take another look for it may simply just be somewhere else!
